AI lesson assistant Aila saved primary teachers about 49 minutes a week in an English trial

In an EEF-commissioned randomized trial with 464 primary teachers, those encouraged to use Oak National Academy's Aila reported weekly lesson prep for their class falling from about 3.3 to 2.5 hours, and their materials were rated no worse. Planning time was self-reported, and the ten-week trial didn't test whether pupils learned more.

Students using an AI science tutor beat usual revision on topic tests in a 644-student trial

In a four-week randomized trial in English secondary schools, students assigned the Medly AI tutor for biology, chemistry and physics revision scored about 2.6 marks higher out of 35 on short topic tests than classmates doing their usual revision. The company funded the preprint, and about 31% of students missed the final test.
