Worth knowing.
Easy to enjoy.
AI is doing some useful things. Hooray Machine is a small daily selection of those stories, told simply, with links to the evidence.
It’s for anyone who’s curious. No need to follow the industry. No need to take a side.

We aim for a varied handful of worthwhile stories. Topics help us look widely; they are not daily quotas. If nothing qualifies, we leave room. A good source matters more than filling a slot, and timely news never waits for a themed day.
Small labels. Honest meaning.
Testing Early research, prototypes or preprints. Encouraging questions, not established benefits.
Promising Results measured in a study or bounded trial. Limitations and wider testing still matter.
In use Being used outside a research-only setting. This describes deployment, not proof of effectiveness.
What makes the cut?
A concrete human or environmental benefit, or something useful, creative or delightful. A primary source we can check. Enough context to understand what happened, who measured it, and what remains uncertain.
We look for useful progress, including early research. We keep the limits alongside the result. “In use” never means “proven.” Research and press releases aren’t independent confirmation.
About the pictures.
Our original clay-style editorial illustrations are AI-generated artwork, not photographs of the people, products or events in the stories. Each story credits its image.
A small vote for what you like.
Thumbs up or down helps the editor learn what you enjoy. Your browser saves a random ID so you can change or clear your vote. It is one vote per browser, not a verified person. Counts stay with the editor. We do not store your IP address or build a browser fingerprint for voting. Clearing browser storage or using another browser starts fresh.
Votes help with taste, never with deciding whether a claim is true. Sources and editorial judgment come first.
Keep it coming.

The little machine delivers stories we find and check. It doesn’t manufacture the facts. The handwritten “super” in the introduction is just a playful wink.
